There’s a lone little birdie that sleeps each night in the corner of my porch eve. It’s quite a sad and lonesome sight for me as I view him nestled and perched there high in the safety of the two walls and ceiling. He has turned his back to the outside world. I wonder, where is his nest? Where is his mate? Does he have babies near by that he cares for during the day while the mother tends the night? Or, is he just a traveler, migrating to a distant land and has chosen to rest here for a short time? I’ve lived here in this house long enough to see him stop by year after year. Could this be the same bird or did he learn of this safe place from another? After a short season, he will be gone. I wonder if he will perch there next season or if he will pass on his place of safety to another? If only this bird could talk – oh the questions I’d love for him to answer!
Be spirit led!
Take a moment to imagine what it was like:
- When each was called to follow Him
- Heated discussions around the table
- Walking the dusty roads
- Breakfast on the beach after they had fished all night
- Pushing through the crowds as He taught and performed miracles
- Spending time with Him in prayer
- Walking through the vineyards and gardens
